the hope dies, wilting like a severed flower, shriveling inside jr until she’s scowling at them all: adult and two children.

one of them is cautiously approaching and the other makes a weird movement. a sneeze though jr cannot hear to confirm it and had not yet quite learned that particularly body motion despite having sneezed plenty herself in her tiny span of life.
