So it begins @Dysis
The mossy estate in which the young gladiator now found himself in was satisfactory, for the time being. This was especially true considering the frightful state of affairs Leonidas found himself in. A refugee of a brutal civil war, a product of mortals giving into inevitable greed and conceit, the young man's family was ripped away from him by Mors herself. Of course, he was pharisaic in his judgement in how the riff was handled. As if he would allow anyone to stray him from his worship. Perhaps the war held some merit.
But the loss of his beloved parents left a lasting visceral ache within his heart, a feeling completely new to the usually stoic soldier. There was no where for it to escape to, so expelled regularly in the form of curses and wishes that his enemies were burning in Hell as he still walked this Earth. He knew not who killed his mother and father, and the fact left him hollow where only the answer could make him whole. They were dead now, and that too left him with an ache as he was likely not the one to land the blow. He had only faced two during the battle that day, and he had eyes on them the entire time. Their blood was not enough to satiate his hunger for revenge.
Enough. Through everything, through the pain and desperation to turn back time itself, Leonidas never allowed the weight of it to show on his person. His gold flecked tail still held high, not once did he shed a single tear in fear that that would mean the enemy had truly won. As of now, he knew of no one else who had managed to survive. That means he had won, and he would continue to keep winning. At any cost.
