a soft frown tugs at jr's lips as njord tells her that she likely didn't know the difference between 'want' and 'need'; but she does not argue despite that she disagrees, bolstered by ignorance of youth. she would learn, one way or the other, and the consequences of her mistakes would be her's to bear.

but she does not think that too far ahead, thinks of only how her disabilities might hinder her ability to survive in a world that does not cater to her.

njord proposes a compromise, and though it was not a simple 'yes' or 'no' she she would've liked and despite that her mind was already made, jr wrestles with defiance.

to do so would be to earn to ire of her family, perhaps even lose them entirely and that was a bridge she did not wish to burn.
