Ouroboros Spine dreaming

maggak continued to wander. she liked it here, in this secluded sanctuary between the tall barriers. it was much cooler than the stinky saltwater plateau. she found herself often wondering why the people of village moontide liked it there so much.
she found herself now in the grove, with the distant sound of the lake lapping at the shore and half-melted snow dappling the earth beneath the trees. occasionally, she presses her flank to the trunks of the tall spruces, leaving hints of her scent here and there as if to say maggak was here.
a flicker of shimmering sundance caught her eye, and toward it she began to bound. she had never seen such a massive body of water! moonspear had glacier-melt and small creeks; this lake felt as if it might reach up from the ground and pull her under.
she steps toward the gravelly shoreline and touches her nose to the foamy, bobbing current. she wished acrux was here to see this.
