rowdy woke briefly when a parent scooped up the errant ruckus and placed them between him and his source of heat. he contested this with a hearty kick aimed at ruckus' head -- the only thing is, when you are spherical rather than pointed, kicks don't mean much at all.

two seconds later he forgot how insulted he was to be disturbed, because more important things happened. the mothership descended, the milk bar opening up untapped -- rowdy drank greedily, the way sad old men past their prime often did, and then fell to a deep and uninterrupted sleep.
