The fight felt as if it went on for ages, though Cambria supposed it was over within minutes. Mulherin doubled down on his claim as the pack’s Alpha, leaving Redd with no choice but to capitulate. Although he felt closer to the current Wealda than the former one, the Dragonling felt ambivalent about the outcome.
Did the end justify the means? It was a question he would process over the coming days, particularly on his long, routine patrols around the mount they called home.
