The arrival of a potential rival put Cambria on edge. He shifted his weight toward Odessia, a covetous gleam in his eye as he shielded her with his body. He wasn’t aggressive by nature, though his lip lifted at the stranger’s commanding tone. But then Odessia began moving, effectively distracting him. The Dragonling shadowed her steps without a single backward glance at the other male.

Walking at her rear was both delightful and torturous. Cambria wanted to sink his teeth into that rump—a love bite, of course. He wasn’t sure Odessia would appreciate that, though, and he didn’t want to take any chances. He avoided touching her, just like he steered clear of any meaningful conversations about repercussions.

Odessia paused among the desert scrub, gilded by the setting sun. She crossed the touch barrier, her lopsided jaw brushing his shoulder. Cambria rumbled a note as he skimmed his nose along the curve of her throat. Then she moved out of reach, dipping forward into a bow that made his eyes heat. They fixed on her upraised hips, his pupils dilating, before he lightly shook his head.

Tell me what you want, Cambria crooned, puffing out his fur in mock belligerence. He swiped playfully in her direction as he elaborated, Tell me what to do to make it good for you, Odessia.
