Care to end this soon? :o Since the plan to join BFW has been changed, I figured this thread could be placed before the one with Scarlett. That way it keeps the timelines from getting all screwy, and also helps it make more sense (sort of).

Depending on how much time one had, hunting an entire herd could maybe be done. It would take a lot of patience, though, and you would need to be quick enough to round them all back up when they'd scatter after each kill. Most didn't have the time to just blow off in order to do that, and what would be the point anyways? Over half the meat would end up spoiling before anyone ever got to it, and hunting prey animals without being able to eat them was just wasteful. “Says the girl with amnesia,” the man commented, some humor lingering with his words. “It might seem easy, but depending on what you're after, it probably isn't.” Deer would probably be the easier to test her theory out on, but a small herd would need to be located in order to do that, and he hadn't seen a small one in what felt like ages.

“You don't need to see everything in order to know what's there and be able to protect yourself,” Kove mused, making no move to get out of the way as she lunged towards him. While he didn't need to rely solely on his eyesight in dark places—such as the tunnels running below Blackfeather—he did let himself use it all the time when he could. With those coppery orbs, he hadn't seen an aggressive stature on the woman, so he'd assumed she didn't actually plan on attacking him this time. Plus, she still needed him until she regained her memories, or at least until she started to make some friends.

Every so often as they walked along, Kove would toss a glance to 'Aklaq', scanning her face for anything he could find. He didn't know her, nor did she really know herself, and because of that he couldn't get an accurate read on her. True, he could detect any aggressive behaviors, or those that supported any other basic emotions, but that was about it. Reading deeper into her was damn near impossible for him to do currently, but that didn't stop him from hoping that, eventually, he would be able to learn what she's thinking or feeling simply by glancing at her. Until then, however, he would have to settle for asking actual questions to receive answers.
