Wildfire hiccuped herself into silence, then gently flailed her limbs in response to the tickling. It felt good and bad at the same time. If she hadn't already peed herself, she would have done so now. She snorted, tolerating it for a second, then quite forcefully gummed the offending nose and promptly rolled sideways.

She had escaped Finley's snout only to face plant into her paw. With a victorious squeal, she nuzzled up to her godmother's dewclaw and began suckling. It was only day one and this was twice now she'd mistaken a toe for a teat. Like before, she didn't immediately realize her mistake and tugged on the toe with all the force a toothless, one-day-old wolf cub could muster.
