When her mother approached, Ragna tipped her head up into the touch, whining an apology. Ragna followed close behind her brother, trailing last. Diligent as ever, she listened to her mother's explanation, though she still burned with shame for having scared her mother like that. Excitement warred with the shame, though, and she soon found herself darting ahead of them both. She was sure to keep away from the edge, though, to keep from startling her mother again.

Her brother said it was big, and it was, but that didn't stand out the most. "It's beautiful," she breathed, awed. The water plunged over the rocks with all of the fervor and power of nature. It thundered as it struck the rocks below, spraying up a fine mist that coated her fur. A thick, wet scent surrounded them, and the rocks were slick with moss where the water didn't fall. "Mama, can we swim here? I wanna learn how."
