All Welcome
She is racing through the forest, her paws barely skimming the ground as she runs. Trees seem to loom out of the darkness and branches whip across her path like the powerful swipe of a cougar, yet she dodges them with unnatural accuracy. They are there, she can sense them, their deadly silence unnerving the she wolf with every step she takes. Why are they doing this? They are her pack! Wolves don't hunt other wolves, do they? She continues to run but suddenly, the ground below her has disappeared and she is tumbling head over heels. She whines in terror as a menacing growl tears through the still night air and a huge force is thrown onto her, pinning her body to the ground. A look of innocent fear consumes her features as she makes out the familiar face of her father, right before he lunges for her throat. Everything goes dark...

...and she woke up. With a lazy yawn, Azreal raised her head and stared blankly at the fuzzy scene before her. It wasn't much to look at really. No green, not even any sign of life apart from a collection of over sized grasshoppers buzzing around here and there. She wondered what had happened here to cause so much devastation to the flora but whatever it was, it had occurred at least a few days before she had made her appearance here. With that on her mind, it wasn't until she heard a twig snap in the surrounding wilderness that she remembered her vision.

It wasn't real, was it? It couldn't have been. From what she had been taught, wolves were civilised creatures who respected one another, assisting their comrades in times of need. So then why had her father attacked her? It may have just been a trick of her imagination but even so, it felt far from fake. With a distressed snort, Azreal shook her head. And shifted her frame into a sphinx like posture, still baffled by the millions of unanswerable questions whizzing around like flies inside her head.
