Nerds encouraged!

Something was terribly, terribly wrong. Chip had been trying to gauge the prey levels here in an attempt to figure out if it would be worth settling in this area, but the sudden drop in temperature had mucked up that plan. Since she'd started out this morning, Chip had found a doe, a moose, and now a fox. All three were frozen stiff, though Chip could find no other indication that they were ill. She, of course, was also chilled to the bone. Even when the sun was at high noon, no amount of jogging could keep her warm.

Resorting to the only thing she could think of, Chip began to dig into the snow, beginning a temporary den. She desperately needed to warm up, and this was the only way she could think of to do it. The snow was hard and icy, so digging through it was no easy feat. Thankfully, she'd scavenged plenty of the frozen-to-death prey she'd found earlier, so at least her stomach was full.
