the girl's coat allowed her blend in with the snow, her faded blue gaze fized on the small herd of deer that she had found to be wandering the outskirts of their territory. the girl stalked forward, and today her primary goal was not to hunt the creatures (she was far too small, and the pack required no sustance, any way) but to watch their numbers, and Valette instructed was so important.
there were but five, and she had travelled a distance from the territory to watch them, and perhaps guess at their path. one was a buck, marked by a single antler, the other having fallen off in the heat of the rut, when she remembered the bucks to have fought across their territory, leaving behind a great deal of antlers to find. the other's were does, and they seemed to be in good health. she decided to watch them for a while longer, and later report back to Valette.
