He does not wish to make a fool of himself — he seeks to make a good impression upon the stranger they depart to seek. Charon, Mato reminds himself. That is the name his father has given him. The druid keeps pace with Sebastian easily, quiet and contemplative as he considers how this meeting will go and whether he’ll walk away wiser for it as he aspires to.
