His objective was clear, set by Amekaze herself: find and hunt big game. Lead others to the herds and bring back food. Dune was well-equipped to do this, and he had every reason to do it. He wondered if any of the others had asked for such responsibilities. Had they even considered asking the leaders for what they wanted? Dune supposed he could have just kept chugging along, doing whatever he thought was best, but asking had seemed the right choice, especially now that it was over and he had gotten his answer. When the pups came, he would get the recognition he deserved.

For now, he would work hard to bring food to Amekaze to help her through these trying times. He would not hunt today, but he did want to track. The earth was cut with a thousand hooves, and he knew that the herd could not be too far off. For now, he simply continued to follow the trail, searching for its end. Tomorrow, or perhaps the next day, he would gather a few wolves to help him make a kill.
