For the first year of her life, Orca had been content to stay within the confines of Redhawk Caldera. She was often busy, tending to puppies, patrolling with her sister, and helping @Raven gather herbs for her collection. Her interests were varied and scattered, and she liked to dabble in a little bit of everything. She wasn't exceptional at any one task, but considered herself to be decent at anything she put her mind to. She was happily average.

But after her birthday and the war, she began to grow a little more curious about life outside of the caldera. It took her quite some time to work up the courage to go on an excursion of her own, and she had spent hours planning with @Lagan, who was more familiar with the territories surrounding their home. After careful consideration, she set her sights on the mountains to the north, and with encouragement from Lagan, she set off by herself.

After a bit of exploration around the base of the mountain range, she made her way into a valley between the peaks. She was careful to stay away from the summit claimed by a neighboring pack and kept her paws planted firmly on unclaimed land. But she was exhilarated all the same as she looked, sniffed, and listened, until her gaze fell on the pale fur of a stranger on the rocky slope and she paused to watch him from a distance.
