gaze honed in on a tiny shell half-caught in the waves, tail sticking up ramrod straight a beat later, suddenly intent on it. she dashed forward only to dash back in a beat, nearly toppling in her hurry to get back before the waves lapped against her paws - she was still dry(ish) and therefore winning!

shell lay forgotten, however, then a voice had her turn, dancing just out of reach of the waves and silently declaring T. "no 'urt!"  she proclaimed, maw falling open and shut when she realized she had no word for tease, but "play!" worked just fine instead. "da play?"  she danced after the wave, reeling back, then looked again to him.
