All Welcome
The plume of smoke wafted into the glen after the sun had long set. The twinkling stars were still visible between the gaps in the canopy above. Fireflies danced their mating dance, lighting up the area as if stars themselves. What actually concerned the feline, though, was the ample cover and the scent of deer.

Once a suitable target was in sight, she lowered herself to a crouch and stalked through the tall grass. The doe faced away from her, and in the low lighting, success seemed imminent. The predator inched closer and closer, only four feet away now. This was why she preferred the night. Coiling her muscles, Maud shoved off of the ground to launch herself at the deer. The rest fled as the unfortunate target was knocked to the ground under her weight with a hearty thud. Her jaws pierced its throat, and it was over.

It didn't take long for Maud to catch her breath. Then, she began to dig into the doe's hindquarter, bloodying her face and the air around her. She was engulfed in the task, fearing little and eager to fill her stomach.
