Haunted Wood the devil took him to a very high mountain

the winged wraith hovered over a spread of thick trees, turned brightly yellow and orange for the fall. it's dark eyes searched below, scouting for treasure, scouting for life.

sweeping in a wide circle, the raven pointed itself toward the earth and dropped at an impressive speed. when it drew too close to the tops of the foliage, it pulled up and leveled in flight. an ominous caw echoed through the wood at it's success.

dipping through an opening, the wraith sunk down to the forest floor and landed among leaves that had scattered from passing winds. the remnants of a forgotten meal rested there. it picked at the chunks of meat and flesh that still dangled against the carriage.

the shadow was content for a short time.
