“Amsu has never seen the ocean,” the golden wolf admitted, looking north at the woman’s motioning head nod. “Coming from a desert, perhaps that much water would frighten him, no?” He chuckled. He was a bit sad that apparently it was too cold here for deserts, and wondered where on earth he would end up finding a proper home. She wanted to know why he would want to live in a desert and Amsu brightened a bit at that. “Imagine a place where the sun is always shining and one gets to sleep in the sun all day and play in the creek if it gets too hot.”

The boy asked if Amsu would tell him more about deserts next time, and Amsu nodded and asked, “Are you leaving, then? Amsu hopes we will meet again.” He dipped his head, smiling when the boy thanked him before taking off into the distance. Amsu watched the boy go for a moment and then turned to the woman. “Is this one searching for anything, then? She does not like deserts, but perhaps… a forest? The ocean?” He raised his eyebrows at her curiously.
