His gaze followed the boy's to the sea. The waves crashed in frothing strips along the coastline, pulling at the man's heartstrings. He yearned to be amongst them even now, though his duty to the hooded youth beside him overshadowed such longings.
Embry made as if to adjust himself once more adjacent to Illidan in some vital direction, but this time he stopped short. The abrupt manner in which he did this was intentionally slower than he would have done in any realistic scenario, but he wanted the boy to catch on so he was careful to begin at a fair pace. He stood a bit to the young man's left and swiped at his hind leg; all but hissed, "Stand your ground. Anticipate it."
He hoped that the boy would begin to hear his cues and sharpen to them. Cues were everything in the theater of war, after all.
