There was a sickening punch to the otherwise crisp morning air. It's tendrils of whisps blowing steadily across the eastern valley as golden eyes drifted from one landmark to the next. No matter how old he was or what was on his mind, he always seemed to gravitate towards water. It never seemed to be intentional but it was like a part of it was calling him back as though it were telling him what it expected.

Plowing through what looked to be an unmistakable swamp, Roscoe skirted what water he could avoid in lieu of staying somewhat dry. As unkempt as his fur was, caking on mud was not on his agenda. Though as he traveled through the slough he followed along the nearest mountain until he began a steady ascent up. He didn't intend to go very far but he was also an over-eager student with no teacher to guide him except the sun.

Too many times his subconscious told him to turn back and go down, he was glad that he had a knack for being stubborn. In the expanse of the mountain side he came across what looked to be a giant lake of water nestled neatly at an altitude he hadn't expected. The tawny boy wandered closer to its edge, a great wonder and excitement burning at the cusp of his nose.
