After meeting the timid girl Korei, the wanderer set about making himself comfortable in the surrounding territories. He did not follow after her once she fled the scene, but held her scent in mind all the same. It was a point of reference that he referred to as he roamed. He visited forests, climbed hills, ventured to the northern limits of the valley, and worked his way back again — taking time to hunt when it was needed, but generally using the time to see the sights and get the lay of the land. It wasn't so different from other places he'd visited, not until Cinqefoil made a curious discovery.

He was high on a ridge, staring down at the valley that had caught his attention for the past few weeks, and that's when he saw it. An obelisk — no, a series of them — standing tall, gleaming in the spring light. It was unlike anything he had ever seen in his lifetime; yet as he descended along one path or another towards them, Cinqefoil was reminded of the tales his father and grandfather would share. Legends of great stone cairne composed of stacked rocks, which his people once used as grave markers. What were these monoliths? It was a morbid concept that drove him closer - curious, intrigued, fixated in the way that he often became with new things.

But as Cinqefoil got nearer and the land leveled out, he became aware of the scent of wolf in the air. He slowed his pace; there was no need to disrupt the natives simply for his own amusement. His father would be mighty proud of him for that realization, surely. The best method would be to call for someone, so he tilted his head back and sang a rough tune, then settled in to wait.
