The bird was too quick for him, but he'd at least scared it off from the pup. Facing a full size carnivore, the ravens were less likely to mob, but a puppy size creature they could bully with little recompense.

That didn't mean they wouldn't try though. A few looked shiftily like they might try their luck, but while the pups might be too engrossed in play to notice, Gannet was not. He stood aggressively ready, his silver eyes intent and promising murder to any who might try to get close. Normally a gentle soul, he would not abide any threat they might bring to the little ones he was now watching.
