Raspberries. That's why she was here. The smell of the fruit had drawn here from the edge of the forest, and now she was gorging herself on the tart berries. She could sense that winter was close, and with its arrival, such finds would be nonexistent. So, she made the most of situation. Little hands plucked the bright red food from the leaves as quickly as she could chew and swallow the one currently in her mouth. But a rusting made her freeze. She dropped the berry she was holding and whipped around to see the predator paused in the middle of the forest. Lieke remained frozen, beady eyes glued to the wolf, face and hands stained red from her meal. One wrong move, and she would zip away to the closest tree and take shelter in the leaves.
