The weak and woozy Sugar didn't notice the sounds of another's approach, though her eyes hazily reopened at the sound of the vile woman's voice so close to her ear. Her tone had changed dramatically. Sugar felt her heartbeat spike, the adrenaline shooting through her veins giving her the energy to lift her head slightly and peer at the newcomer. She could feel the hot breath on the back of her neck and understood the danger. Saliva pooled in her mouth as her stomach rolled, black eyes silently begging the silver she-wolf for help.
