He hated him. Just because he was bigger didn't mean he was better than the little prince. Ignoring the bigger guy while focussing on his own wounds, he would simply wallow in it a little longer, let it fester in an unhealthy manner in his psyche instead of learning how to deal with his frustration and anger in a healthy way. No, he was vengeful. Once he could, he would show Valour who was boss. Instead of going to see his mom for the bite he would go into the water to wash himself off instead, hoping it would calm the sting and clean it on its own.
