All Welcome
When given the opportunity to interact, many question Atali's capabilities and means of survival.

For starters, they always want to know how she gets around.

"Trees are the trickiest." She oft tells them. Yet, despite the truth of her words, a devious grin and a hearty chuckle always follows.

Anything that proves to be a challenge is something Atali will pursue. With any challenge, comes knowledge and improvement by means of oneself. Who could say no to that?

Back to trees.

Having been blind for near most of her life, she has learned tricks that come in handy.

Firstly, there is the sense of smell. Trees have a very stout and earthly stench, leaving them quite noticeable to the nose. This lets her know when she's approached close enough, but hasn't yet collided.

To keep from getting much closer, she will sweep both paws and dock along nature's surface, feeling for roots and fallen branches. Both are a sign she has drawn close to the trunk.

If a windy day, gust-free gaps can also warn when she has passed, or is directly facing a trunk. It oft depends where she is traveling and which way the breeze flows.

There are more methods... but in all, it's safe to assume that most of the time she ends up colliding with the trunk bed either way; hence why her steps are so slow when hears the bend of the leaves.

More often than not, Atali tried to avoid regions with lengths of topiary, but it doesn't always work.

Ouch! ... Tree~

With a small step backwards, the lithe woman shook out her pelt, brushing away the bark that now clung to her chest.

Now, this ought to be a fun day's worth of travel...

For all thread participants, please be aware that Atali is fully blind and may oft take a bit longer to establish the presence of another (including where they are located).
