Redhawk Caldera everything is blue

Jay had been leaving gifts for Sorana ever since she’d taken to hiding away.  His mom insisted that he needed to give her space but he didn’t understand it.  If she was unhappy, wouldn’t playing or exploring with him make her feel better?The opposite would definitely be true if he was ever upset.

He’d grown over the past months to nearly match his parents in size, but he hadn’t outgrown the clumsy enthusiasm that made stealth a weakness of his.  Sorana would hear him coming from a distance.

SORANA!!  Oh, wait… are you going somewhere?!  Do you want me to come?  He hollered from a distance, but spoke more normally the closer he got.  Everyone was leaving so it kind of made sense if she was thinking about it, looking at the border.  He had noticed the plucking, the way she looked, but even he knew better than to bring that up.  Obviously something was wrong, but if he didn’t know how to fix it, the least he could do was offer to go with.  He hadn’t been able to do that with Deedee.
