All Welcome
it was snowing.

the world had continued to grow colder and colder. now rain did not fall, but snow. light and pale. cold, so cold. with it came some kind of grim feeling. perhaps it was only the sensation that anyone who experienced the changing of seasons had.

she set out to examine any signs of local herds that she might. not for hunting, but for tracking. for learning.

Crashes in
The gathering had been a humbling experience for Foxglove; a reminder that there was so much of the world she had yet to experience. And besides that, the crowds had made her nervous. She'd stuck close to her sisters, too frayed for regrets until they'd already returned home.

Now the shame was settling in. Listless and filled with self-loathing, Fox trailed Petal, who was surely occupied with more productive tasks. Maybe she would let Fox help her. Maybe that would be a good distraction from how much everything sucked.

it was good to have foxglove there. she'd always rather it be her sisters than anyone else. granted that was not a very kind thing to think when you were a pack wolf, was it?

it's snowing now, she said almost idly even if her voice suggested it was most certainly not an idle thought.

she examined where strips of bark had been peeled by something non-canis. signs of a passing herd. she imagined they might have made a fine home of this place while they all had been gathered elsewhere.

Snowing. Foxglove glanced up as if she hadn't noticed the weather until her sister pointed it out. Perhaps on some level it had registered, but nothing about it struck her as strange or different. The world was always trying on different faces, it seemed; it stared back at her with new eyes each time she looked.

It's not that different from rain, She supplied, gaze still tracing the falling flakes for a moment. Then she noticed that Petal was inspecting something, and drew closer to look for herself. Huntin' deer? Fox questioned aloud, unable to imagine what other creatures might have left these marks.

but it was change, she wanted to say. instead stayed silent for her sister's sake. maybe as much as her own sake, too.

not hunting. watching. seeing what they're doing. she had no interest in the actual hunting act. maybe that was unnatural. however she had seen how she could trade her plants for things like meat. why should they stop that now that they had returned home?

did you like anyone the most at the group hunting? moontide was nice. she had made sure to show her sisters the seal bones and shared the seal fat with only them.
