All Welcome
The next few days, Wynonna goes without seeing another wolf. Being alone had always suited her and so complains did not leave her muzzle. Exploring territories on her own, finding each landmark for herself, had something satisfying. It is when she reaches an obstacles that things become complicated. With a cliff’s edge on her left and an expanse of a territory on her right, unexplored, she isn’t sure where to go. The gust of sea breeze hits her and carries the thick scent of wolves that, if she were to go further north along the coast, she’d run into an impenetrable border of wolves.

Unsure of her final destination, she deviates a little to the east. It is on the coast of the sea, where she’s meant to be, but she’s uncertain if this one in particular is her home. For now, she keeps her distance, and quietly she begins her new trek.

Her stomach rumbles, disputing her decision to go without hunting, but a scent catches her attention and subtle movement within tall grasses. One brow lifts, an odd quirk, and she smiles as she begins to bury herself and creep forward. Rabbits are but a small meal, and would likely be enough to tide her over—assuming she’d be able to catch one. Her state is weakened and travel weary and her last meal days ago in the tide pools of the sea. Rabbits, creatures fast enough to outrun her into hiding, might be a little tricky.

Wynonna lunches then and the small band of rabbits break apart, her paws leading her in the way of the plumpest one—and to her surprise, she’s able to swiftly pick it up into her jaws. She clamps and shakes until she’s satisfied there is no movement left in the lifeless creature.

Kinta had traveled far from her homeland. The illness that had swept over her pack was far behind her, though she could remember the dying words of her mother. Those words had pushed her to find a place where illness would not cause tragedies. On her journey, she had come across and old wolf who spoke of the Teekon Wilds. She had heard him tell tales, and decided to go to the Northwest Vale. This was where she was going to stay, but she had to get there first. She had decided to go along the coast until she passed all of the pack territories, then travel through the mountains.

That's when she scented another wolf. A she-wolf. She was a loner, and by the smell of it she had a rabbit, and was weak... "No it wouldn't be right, stop thinking like that." She felt the pain in her stomach, but she refused to let herself steal. Maybe she could talk to the she-wolf, and help her. Kinta preferred to be alone, even so, she knew it wouldn't be healthy to stay alone for much longer. Though Kinta refused to admit it to herself, much less others, what Kinta really wanted was a friend. So, because Kinta was downwind it was easy to walk up to the tawny she-wolf, who looked quite frail. Kinta eyed the plump rabbit, but decided to introduce herself. "Hello, I'm Kinta. I wasn't expecting to find someone here."

The woman isn't alone for long, doesn't even have time to put the rabbit down and eat it, before she catches sight of another. Her fur bristles, head lowers protectively over her kill and throat, and takes a few steps back. A warning growl is all she offers, the taste of blood filling her mouth. Saliva pools on her tongue and she wishes to devour the thing then and there, but swallowing it whole isn't ideal. She hums quietly to herself before she takes a few steps back and considers her options. A lone wolf she may be, but relatively fed, if only thin and tired, she has no doubt she can at least run if she's threatened.

What stops Wynonna from dashing off immediately is the other introducing herself, and speaking, and she narrows her green eyes with scrutiny. "Why not?" she speaks, though it's muffled, unwilling to drop her kill without the chance to eat it. The territory had no claim to it, but she'd learned in her time as in rogue that anyone would be around the corner. Always on the lookout. It just so happened to be during her chase of her prey that her guard was down for other signs of life.
