All Welcome
The time between them leaving the Basin and now was nothing but utter chaos to the young Remmy. He knew why they had to go, and what it meant if they were to stay, but he still didn't like it. The place he had grown up and what he knew had been left behind, to be replaced by strange foreign sights and smells. The normal routine of his life had been upset and so the boy withdrew, remaining quiet and close to his mother, Cecilia, for the weeks they travelled.

When they finally seemed to find a place to rest — a spindly, unsettling forest that looked like something had ripped the very life from the trees — Remmy still refused to come out of his shell, though a flicker of timid curiousity lingered behind his fiery gaze.

It was early morning and the boy had wandered a short distance away from the small clearing they called their camp. He was still within earshot, though, not wanting to stray too far from his family while they were in this unfamiliar land. Fog drifted lazily between the trees as the Ferretti weaved around them, nose wiggling as he inspected what little plant-life there was left here.

Giana was already out exploring, actually having risen hours before the sun. The ivory female had wandered off to find a higher point, but soon had settled atop a fallen log. Giancarlo might be mad if she wandered far, but it was her family that kept her close in order to protect, should the need arise. Her stormy eyes were locked onto the sky, flickering from star to star.
Hours later, as dawn broke and the stars began to fade, a familiar scent drifted to her from behind. Her ears perked, but before any sort of aggression could take over, she pinpointed it as Remmy. Another early riser today, huh? Well, the company of another Ferretti was always welcome. A low, friendly chuff of greeting loosed from her chest towards where she thought Remmy would be approaching from.

Sorry Raven, guess I got alittle ahead of myself last time -.^

Carlotta blinked against the morning sun, relishing in the warm rays and taking a moment to remember where she was. Her pads were tender from the trek to this foreign land but it didn't bother her too much, and the excitement of exploring her new surroundings was enough to have the young wolf jumping to her feet. Taking a quick glance around let Carlotta know that she was late rising, as most of the family were gone.

Streching her front end to the ground leisurely, the ginger and cream wolf caught sight of her cousins dark tail disappearing into the brown bush and wondered how he was holding up. It wasn't unusual for him to be quiet, but she had hardly heard a peep from the male and concern for her kin made her pad after him. As she did, Carlotta picked up her mother's scent and smiled, trotting alittle faster to catch up. Maybe together they could take a peek around, get an idea of what this territory had to offer.

He didn't even realise he was being trailed (nor about the other family member who had risen before him) until a soft chuff echoed out from the woodland. He froze in fright, tensing as he heard footfalls behind him and, timidly, he turned to look in the direction they came from. He relaxed as he realised it was only Carlotta — perhaps one of his favourite of the Ferrettis next to his own mother — and gave a half-smile at her as her pale form emerged out of the misty surroundings.

Now onto whoever had made that sound...

It was then he spotted the regal, plush figure that was surely Giana. She blended in just as easily as her daughter did with the morning haze. The woman intimidated Remmy, though he knew she had a softer side that occasionally made itself known. Slowly, checking behind him to make sure Carlotta was following, he padded towards Giana who was perched upon a fallen log. "Good morning, Giana," he said in his monotonous, though nonetheless respectful, tone. "And Carlotta," he quickly added to the girl behind him.

With what? o.O

Her daughter's scent joined Remmy's, and a smile spread across the womans face as they came into view. Gia had no idea of the dark boys thoughts towards her, and though she would have felt bad it was towards the innocent boy it would have made her thrilled on the inside. She might want strangers and enimies to fear her, but never her family. They were the very reason the queen was the way she was, in her eyes. She had to protect her brood, of course, it was her job as a mother.
Giana kept atop her perch, but her body was relaxed.
