Dash had spent the last weeks successfully tracking down his brother and spending some time with him. Unfortunately, he hadn't known where their siblings and parents were, but Dash felt a renewing feeling of hope just finding his brother. He found him to be outgoing, and very smart, and had taught Dash a thing or two in their short time together.

But, surprisingly to the dark wolf, he missed the place he had called home, and the wolves who had put so much faith in him. Charon and Amekaze had more hope in Dash than he had in himself at the time, and that wasn't something that even distance and time could allow him to ignore. He felt an unfamiliar urge to return, and that urge had grown stronger day by day. His brother had asked him to stay, but Dash's loyalties knew where they lied. Although his brother would always be special to him, Dash knew where home was. Thankfully, his brother had understood, and wished him well.

As he traveled, he imagined the land just as he had left it, though expected it to be greener, since he left before spring was in full bloom. His tracks stopped as he realized it was the complete opposite. The land was barren, void of the green lush grass and forests that should be present. For a moment, Dash look confused. He knew where he was, but at the same time, none of this looked familiar. What had happened?

He began walked until he came up a small lake. His muzzle lowered, sniffing it. It didn't smell any different than he thought it should. Tentatively, his tongue snaked out to take a lap, finding it tasted normal, as well. He lowered his body to the ground as he drank his fill of the water, his eyes scanning the area head. Night would soon fall, and he should probably find a spot to lay low. It was clear prey would be scarce, and who knew what the wolves in this area would do for food.
