Qilaq gives a few more whines and whimpers before nudging herself into the large canine’s armpit as she’s scooted forward into his chest.

When she makes herself comfortable, tears drying into her fur, she rolls so she can look up at him. He speaks, like Nemesis and the other wolves, and like most times when they speak as if she isn’t here, her attention remains on something irrelevant. Her paws swipe upward to catch the long, white nose, and she wiggles a little in hopes to draw it closer.
