with rowan's blessing, or probably not, cortland tobias mayfair had made his way over the borders into the wolf-scented forest beyond. he had visited several times before, but not on his own, and was overcome with all the fragrances there were to explore. unbeknownst to him, exploring and being out of bound was how the creek had lost two of its pups to another pack, but in that instance, there'd been some weirdo waiting to grab them.
if there were weirdos about, he didn't know — the boy frisked around and snapped his teeth with puppyish menace at a squirrel who scolded him from a low bough.[/tr][/td][/table]
