All Welcome
She was back tending to another, but she did not mind. It was strange, looking after someone she only knew through Hydra's anecdotes. His name was @Rannoch, he was brother to Rian and Cypress, and had led a pack near the mountains. He was also very handsome. For some reason, Lyra was a lot more bashful around the burly man than she was Terance. She put it down to the fact that Terance was simply a more familiar face. Yet she felt the blood rush to her face every time she stepped foot into the den where the injured man slept, stealing glances at his rugged face when she had a chance.

When he had finally woken — startling Lyra in the process — Charon was called to fully accept the boy into Moonspear as per his wishes. He mentioned something about a wolf named Liffey but Lyra scarcely heard, instead taking the moment to go and grab some more dandelions which she had found help with pain.

She returned to find Rannoch alone and she felt the familiar rush of diffidence, cheeks burning as she slowly approached. He looked better than he had been over the past few days. The wound on his neck was no longer bleeding and was already beginning to scar, but she knew it would take several moons to close completely. She dropped the dandelion leaves tentatively before the man and skittered back, avoiding eye contact. "H-how are you feeling?" she asked, genuine concern buried underneath a layer of timidness.

Once-fearful eyes now shone mirthlessly. Even though his conversation would have been considered a success, Rannoch found his mind slowing due to fatigue. Perhaps it was the weight of the Alpha's words the slowed him. In the short time that they talked, Rannoch had not only been given a new rank but, he had also been given the information of what had happened in the time since he had fallen in the Glen. He couldn't help but wonder how this event would shape his future. Though the Vale's fate was considered briefly, as the former Alpha found himself pining more for his fire-eyed companion than his claim. Rannoch knew locating Liffey was of the utmost priority and he would do so as soon as he was better again. Even though most thoughts were hard for him to grasp, the idea of reuniting with her came naturally.

Rannoch found himself distracted from his thoughts as Lyra moved to deposit a pile of dandelions before him and he was thankful for the momentary reprieve. Now that he was aware of the fact that he was no longer on the top of the totem pole, Rannoch dropped his gaze to rest on her chin as she inquired about his well-being. "I've been better," he decided slowly with a newfound ruggedness to his voice; a sensation that was still foreign to the Iota.

He turned to her and she felt her entire face burn up, right up to the tips of her ears. His eyes were unlike any colour she had seen before, almost like a pond lit up under direct moonlight. It was similar to Terance's own, yet deeper...more intriguing. She found herself staring and the girl looked away quickly and focused on the pile of plants she had retrieved. "I..." she started after his downcast reply, though was momentarily distracted by the gravelly timbre of his voice, which only caused another wave of bashfulness to crash over her.

"These leaves will help with the pain," she finally managed to say, motioning to them. "S-sorry they don't taste very good." It was better than constantly writhing in agony, though. "I, uh, I hope Charon didn't give you a hard time, either."

The riveting conversation that he had had with Charon had left Rannoch fatigued. As a result of this state, Rannoch was easy to direct. His eyes moved as Lyra motioned to the pile of herbs and he smiled weakly. "Thanks," he replied, unable to adequately thank her for her efforts. Despite his wanting to consume the medicine, Rannoch could not muster the energy to do so. Instead, he looked at them longingly before his attention was stolen once more.

"No sorry," he assured her with a stiff twitch of his tail. Words were hard, he was quickly learning, and all he wanted to do was go back to sleep. His body hurt, his eyelids drooped, and yet, he fought sleep in favor of keeping company with Lyra. As tiring as conversing had been historically in his awakened state, Rannoch thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it and wanted to do so for as long as he physically could.

Her remark about Charon caused his brows to lift and at a snail's pace, he replied, "No, good," a shallow yawn divided his thoughts, "he accepted me."

He thanked her and she smiled in response, but it quickly faded as he made no move to eat the leaves. She did not press him, however, as much as she knew she should do. She had never suffered — nor tended to — an injury as severe as this and had no idea if even a simple task such as eating was painful. He would when he was ready, she reminded herself, glad to at least see him talking. It gave her a chance to find out more about this mysterious man.

She settled onto her stomach with front legs outstretched to mirror Rannoch's own posture, enjoying the moment in the sun as she had been stuck in the dark den while watching over her patient. Is this how Amekaze felt with the pups? The excruciatingly slow lift of his brows and groggy words would have been amusing under any other circumstance, but it only caused further worry for Lyra. At least he had received Charon's blessing. Not that she thought her father would turn away the man; Charon seemed to know everyone this side of the Wilds.

"Good," she said with a nod of her head. Though she had ten million other questions, Rannoch looked like he was about to pass out again then and there. "You can go back to sleep if you want," she said, offering a friendly smile, though she sort of hoped he wouldn't.

Rannoch found himself fighting the temptation to sleep again so suddenly. No longer than an hour had passed since he had regained his status amongst the living and he felt that there were still so many things that he still needed to catch up on. But even with these desires, Rannoch found himself growing more fatigued with every minute that passed.

"I don't want to sleep— I'm all right," he reassured tiredly. But even with his best effort, the former Alpha found himself yawning.

Watching him fight off the urge to sleep was tiring itself. She actually felt the crease mark forming between her brows as they pressed together in concern. Should she even let him go back to sleep? She knew very little of the proper procedure here. Even despite her sister's talking up and confidence in her abilities, Lyra was still very much a medic-in-training. And Rannoch was, for all intents and purposes, a test subject.

His reassurance followed by a wide yawn caused a small smile to creep onto her features, and Lyra stood, front paws delicately placed together as she did so. She tried to pull herself upright into a posture that asserted dominance, channeling Hydra. It was a poor imitation, but Lyra hoped the boy knew what was best for him even in his semi-concious state.

"No, you must sleep," she said as sternly as she could manage. "You'll get better quicker that way." She paused, then decided to add another demand whilst she had the courage. "And eat those leaves, too."

With the doctor's orders given, Rannoch obliged. He reached towards the foul-tasting herbs and grabbed them once he was in range. As Rannoch chewed, and as an unattractive expression settled upon his face, the Iota pulled away from where Lyra had left the herbs and attempted to get into a more comfortable position.

"Thanks, Lyra," Rannoch said with another yawn once he rest his head upon his outstretched forelegs; his eyes sought the Medic once more before he closed them. "You're the best." And with his sentiment and appreciation voiced, Rannoch fell asleep in a matter of seconds.

Despite his stillness, the only indication of his liveliness came from the light snore that crossed his dark lips.

Thankfully, he did as she asked. Lyra was actually surprised it had worked but was nonetheless grateful for him obliging so she wouldn't have to repeat her demands. The bleeding heart that she was, it pained the girl to be so forceful with an injured wolf. This was all so much easier when they were sleeping.

She watched as he settled back down, once more catching a glimpse of his handsome cerulean eyes as he thanked her. She felt her ears tips burn and offered a wonky smile in response, glad he was instantly out the moment his eyes drooped closed. The girl stared as he snored gently, perhaps unnervingly so, almost entranced. After a few minutes, though, Lyra finally turned on her heel to go collect more of the golden flowers...and to clear her head.
