Wapun Meadow remember the day we were giving up

He took her indifference at first as ignorance -- she hadn't noticed him, so therefore needed to be hailed -- but after garnering her attention, he realized by the lack of enthusiasm in her turn and the dull and numb expression on her face, that she had been aware of him and simply hadn't the mind for his company. Atomsk regretted showing his loneliness, even to an admirable she-wolf,  but it didn't stop him from addressing her as he had intended.

Hanging back several wolflengths, he bobbed his head. "You looked like you were searching for something. I came to see if there was anything I could do." It was a boring life as a loner, after all. Without the option to provide for others, the stalwart Atomsk was left seriously wanting.
