The sun is soft on the trees but even the slightest patch of sunlight throws the snowy ground into stark relief, brighter than a supanova and just as blinding for half a moment.

Iskra isn’t sure of what to think of this place— these woods where the sun is brighter than home and the thickets of trees, ferns, bushes that smell so foreign that they are almost familiar to a sensitive nose. A sharp note of marking lingers in the area— a pack border that she dare not cross.

She’s never been a stickler for the rules— but some rules are not meant to be broken.

With a inward sigh, she settles on her haunches and howls, a note of inquiry lilting through the air.

And, she waits.

{I hope this is the right place!}

It is @Iskra ! You did great~

Cry was ever more busy patrolling border with just as much vigor as he had to start. One, it kept him sane, two it kept him fit, and threw it provided him with a motive. He couldn’t imagine suffocating Gwen in his presence, hanging around her all day - should would likely tire of him, and the last thing he wanted to do to his Empress was push her away. He couldn’t help but mentally abuse himself at the possibility of it-

that was what these walks were for.
He’d always hurt himself before he hurt her.

Keeping a steady gait on the external husk of the Keep’s border, he kept his mind light. Usually it was full of things for him to sort through, but with so much free time in his schedule, he had managed to sort through practically everything. The ex-Assassin couldn’t determine whether it was best to be anxious because of his lack of work, or appreciative of his lightened burden.

Regardless, the ebonian spotted a rather average wolf ahead of him, and just moments before he arrived to greet her, her voice greeted him, asking for an audience of whoever dwelled here. Well, he’d rather get to her first before the woman woke up @Gwen ... but then again the Artic Queen was more than likely awake and hunting as she usually did to brighten her mornings.

Hello,” the ebonian king greeted her with polite baritones. “You rang?” He asked, athletic body of void settling into a casual and calm stance.

Within moments, a dark male emerged from the area, seemingly coming out from the snow despite his ebony coat.

His voice rang out with authority— from his body language and stance, Iskra could only assume he was the pack’s alpha— as he answered her request for an audience. Not unlike an emperor upon a dais, he settled with all the grace of Atlas upon the heavens.

Iskra kept her own body neutral and low, not quite meeting the eyes of the pack alpha in attempt to show at least a little humility.

One never knew the temperament of another until it was too late.

”I did indeed call. I’ve heard tell of a pack within these borders, and have come to inquire as to whether there is room among your ranks for a wolf far from home.”

She flicked her gaze up momentarily to gauge the reaction of the stranger-wolf.

While his instincts smiled upon her humility, his personality requested her gaze to meet his own. As he ruled over himself as a beast, he let no urge pull him under, and so he spoke a gentle allowance to the newcomer. “There’s no need to hide your face, especially from Family.”

She had made it clear she was she was looking for a a home, and distinctly, that was what Shadewood was. Especially for those who needed one.

Then welcome home.” And that was all it took. No rushing to dominate the woman, no raising of stance to obliterate her pride. The elder man stepped forward and blessed her with his signature, his cologne that marked his girls-

and then hen he stood aside to allow her into the threshold of her new solace. The colder jungle awaited her entrance, open and secretive all at once, just like the man whom have her the respite.

Iskra knew authority— had been raised with strict structure of hierarchy and behaviour, bound to a social position and all the trappings that lay within.

So an alpha, asking her to meet his face, seemingly giving permission to do so forthwith from now— it was a concept she had some difficulty with.

She straightened into more more comfortable stance, letting her tail fall to it’s customary position. From her new aspect of view, she could meet the icy blue eyes of her new pack leader. To all logical thought, he should be intimidating but she felt no such arrogance or haughty pride from the other.

“Thank you. My name is Iskra, from the far north.” She paused for half a moment, working the words through her head. “It is good to be home.”

As the older wolf turned to allow her in, she allowed her heart to soar and find solace in this new place— as the trees invited her to share in their mysteries and all things new greeted her.

it was indeed good to be home.
