Gannet too liked to visit the falls at night, though his reasons were simpler. The water soothed him to sleep in a way that, when his mind was racing, the quiet could not. Tonight was one such night, so he'd crept away from Mona and Ashlar and chosen a spot to curl up, near enough to hear the rush of the tumbling cascade.

He wasn't asleep yet when Liffey came, so he heard her approach and pass. There was always that question - bother her or let her be? But he'd found, more often than not, when a wolf was quiet they would feel better after a talk. Or, at least, they would not feel worse.

He stood up, stretching the sleepy weightiness from his limbs before slowly stepping up to join her. He didn't speak right away - just sat down beside, a small length of distance between them, and also looked up. His eyes weren't on the stars, though... they were on the horizon. The stars had never held a whole lot of interest for him. They were too far away and too distantly cold to bother with.
