How long had it been, a week, a month? Or longer perhaps. To Sorin, it felt like it had been a lifetime ago when he had last been in Teekon. The man had been searching for the longest time, but all his efforts had been in vain.

He knew, deep in his heart, that he had taken a wrong turn somewhere in his search. Some hindsight, some deep sense said he had been close and yet had missed her, the one he had promised to help. Liri, the woman whom he had once followed as a loyal friend and packmate. She had disappeared and he had set out to find her, but he had failed. The search had taken him far, but no sign of her had made itself known to him in recent weeks.

The man who stood upon the western edge of the wild was a shadow of his former self. His frame was gaunt with hunger, and his eyes had lost all of their previous luster. His mind had turned inward, leaving him with his quest, his demons, and the instinctive senses all wolves possess.

His tormented gaze took in the wilds once more, and his heart lifted slightly to be back in familiar lands. But it was tinged with sadness and the pain of what had happened here. Still, he set out across the grasslands, resuming his quest once more. But somewhere in his heart, Sorin knew it was futile effort now. He had missed his chance, and it was likely that she had passed on. He wouldn't end his search though, not until he had answers. So he traveled on, whispering under his breath.

"I promised"
