Noctisardor Bypass Distraction? Heh. That sounds a lot like "decoy."

All Welcome
Blink. He was still trying to figure out how that had even happened. And what, because he felt like he'd been metaphorically bonked over the head with something. Really, what happened was he'd brought a rabbit over to give to Arbiter, and she practically snatched it out of his mouth and out of sight, leaving him there with the three half-siblings he'd sort-of-kind-of only met when they were basically peanuts or asleep and his had wanted to stretch her legs for a bit... Now?

He just stared at @Slug, @Grub, and @Beetle much akin to a deer in headlights. Uh. What was he supposed to do? Just keep them from running off? Arbiter had told them to behave (or at least he think he heard that, again, mental brainmalleting), but he didn't really know how to deal with kids. Mostly because it seemed to terrify him. So he just stared a moment, wondering if they were going to attempt to devour him or something.

Grub returned her older brother's stare, definitely thinking about killing and eating him, albeit in a make-believe sort of way. There was no element of surprise here, so she wasn't sure how to catch him off guard, especially if he was looking right at her. Perhaps if her brother and sister could distract him, she could sneak around to his backside and pounce...

Then another thought occurred to her. Grub opened her mouth and said, "Hunt?" Since she had never actually spoken until this very moment, the word came out a little clumsily, sounding more like "haunt." "I am hunt," she embellished, swatting at Warlock's nearest leg before rising onto all fours and beginning to slink away, apparently to hunt. She did pause and look over her shoulder to make sure he he was coming too.

The older boy stared at them as if they were going to eat him, that would have been merciful but no. He was not getting out if this that easily, for a moment she looked over at her ghostly sister before a devilish smile that could have been taken many ways spread over her lips. She looked back at the seaglass eyed boy, her brother, her new subject.

The sheet pale girl spoke and her smile turned amused as she rubbed her side along hers, a show of solidarity. Her tail rose and curled over her back in a display of dominance that demanded to be acknowledged, her head held high she allowed the mispronounced word to stand. Maybe he would think her name was haunt, she too swatted at this boy's leg before clicking her teeth together. Allowing her sister to lead as she followed by her side, a hunt sounded fun.

while his sisters toy with their brother; pingasut hangs back and watches. the older boy is a curiosity to him ...if only because he doesn't exactly fit the bill of what pingasut expected him to be. he looks a lot like their mother; but he stares at them wide-eyed. unfortunately, for warlock, pingasut had built up some sort of idea of what his older brother would be like — an older version of himself, most assuredly — only to find the reality bitter and disappointing.

the spoiled legionnaire barely resists the urge to roll his eyes. he does, however; let out a lofty sigh and takes on a decidedly disinterested look to examine something random in the distance as if he were a human examining his fingernails.

Spook misunderstood. Partially because as far as he knew, the trio were all still little bugs, in a sense. Not to mention the fact that maybe they might have a hint at nudging towards their names on their own was just completely foreign to him. So he picked the simplest answer. The girls were certainly predatory -- probably just the way Arbiter wished them to be. Yeah. Danger danger for when they got older.

He started to come to his senses, blinking. Surely they weren't actually going to hunt at this stage for real, right? Maybe just chase some scents around. Oh um. You want to hunt? Yeah, I can take you guys to go hunt some stuff. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to, but he would feel more comfortable following them along than he would trying to force them to stay put? Oh he could get in trouble. But maybe it would keep them together? Mental flailing here. Well, the girls were going. He tried to smile, and a wag of his tail to his brother, pretending to be more certain of things , C'mon, we gotta catch up to your sisters? Um. You guys get to chase some rabbits and stuff. He tried taking a couple of steps, looking back between where his brother was and the sisters had gone. How much did they understand? He didn't know. But he couldn't split himself in half no matter how he tried. To the girls, Wait for your brother! Please? Somehow? Flail?

Beetle slithered alongside her and Grub pressed back, her own tail remaining neutral behind her. She didn't necessarily defer to either litter mate, though she had no qualms with her sister's pride. Grub was much more interested in hunting than jockeying for rank.

"Wait for your brother!" She shot a curious glance over her shoulder, wondering which brother he meant: Slug or himself? She blinked, posture ready and rigid as she paused for a moment. When they made signs of catching up, she then resumed her forward momentum and dropped her pale snout to the ground to begin combing for scents.

There were many, of course, and Grub wasn't a fine-tuned hunter yet. But she instinctively pinpointed one of the fresher ones, belonging, perhaps predictably, to a rabbit. Grub licked her chops as she slowly crept through the underbrush, the smell drawing her in like a fish on a hook.
