Where the Keep’s rocky ridges met the shallow bubblings of the rivers end came gentlest of all, a small white mess of fluff was dipping his nose below the clear waters surface. Akai was below average for a male his age, but made up for it in the mess of fluffy white fur that created a pretty mane about his head, silver tail akin to a bottle brush in its fuzzy shape. With the coming of winter came a new look, one that didn’t quite cover the mess of scars upon his body (and particularly his face) in the way that he’d like it too, but there were perks to the new coat… by snow-fall he’d be invisible against the icy ground, a pair of wanton eyes hunting prey in clear sight.

Fishing was a virtue that required patience and steady breathing. Once the river-bass were accustomed to this cloud-like shape above the shimmering surface, they neared to investigate the meager bubbles rounding his nose-- and all at once a mighty SPLASH!! The wet-headed Akai rose victorious, a muddy-brown river bass hanging from his jaws.

This one was not for Minah, his daughter whom he brought prey to like an expectant mother in a nest. With the barest of smiles upon his lined face, the male began chewing eagerly upon the scaled things head with one paw tucked beneath his chest fluff, feet hidden beneath a plumed tail. When the ice came and the rivers went hard, he would miss the strong taste of fish upon his tongue… perhaps he’d teach the brothers how to break through the ice, and together the little clan could fish as one.
