If there was anything worse than being rolled about for grooming time, it was being hoisted into the air.
Nanuq squirming was a rarity, but today there was no shortage of kicks and wriggles as he was lifted off the ground. He grunted and strained to no avail. Aquene had too strong a grip. Thankfully, she made sure it was a short trip.
When he was laid on the ground, he thought that was the end of it, but then Aquene resumed the grooming session. Having had enough of his perpetual naptime being interrupted, Nanuq began to wail in earnest.
