Two Rivers Isle Rebuilding

Calida had been combing the hinterlands since the fall of Atautsikut. She did not want to stay at the summit, not anymore. If Antha wanted to hole up their with her children, then fine — either way, Calida was moving onward, this time with her new husband at her side.

When she first came upon the isle, she was intrigued. A vast forest of conifers and deciduous gave way to rolling hills in the north, but what was most interesting was how it was entirely bordered by rivers. Her last attempt with a river had nearly killed her, so she was hesitant to cross it, but luckily enough she found some stepping stones, leading into the forest. It took only a few minutes' exploration for Calida to decide that this was where she wanted to start over. Settling back onto her haunches, she called for Baudelaire.

He never strayed far from her.

The base of an empire had crumbled, but his duty to her had not. If they both still shared a grand vision of greatness, why leave? So when she called, he came quick on tall legs.

Pleased to see her. A small grin settled comfortably on his face.

Calida was glad to have Baudelaire at her side, glad to simply not be alone. She had lived her life alone for too long. When he came to her, she smiled back at him, and she told him, I like it. Natural borders on all sides thanks to the river, the forest is large, and... She chuckled a little, awkwardly. I think it will be a good place to raise children. This place would be for them. Then, she met her husband's eye, asking, What do you think?
