Illness had stricken Marina once more. Some inexplicable fever had taken root in her, deepening over the weeks and refusing to lessen under the few simple herbal remedies she'd picked up. She was no healer, only a mother. It wasn't enough.
Even so, she remained present in the lives of her children, attentive to them and to @Chakliux and @Tullik. It was only that she had so little energy for anything else. Most days she scarcely left the lodge except as necessary to tend the children.
But she knew that this would pass. A healer would come, or the illness would fade on its own. She would be okay.
For now she just needed to rest.
