"There is nothing more joyful and collected, or dangerous and wild...as a wolf that is laughing." -Disciple Lawborn

Profile of Lokk: Details
Appearance
Lokk Lawborn is a BIG boy, even by wolf standards. Big bones, big paws, big chest, big teeth, big eyes, and a big heart. He is extremely broad shouldered and very thick necked. If it wasn't for the long, thick tail he could be mistaken for a small grizzley. His coat is a swirl of a dark mahogany and rust. He has a light cream color that paints his muzzle, chest, and flanks. His eyes are a deep, rich, amber color that resembles the sap from a healthy Ponderosa Pine. He laughs often and plays frequently but knows how to be serious if the situation calls for it. Because of his size he is often known to eat a little more than his fair share and many times can't keep up with the thinner, quicker wolves.

Personality
Lokk is known to laugh often...(maybe guffaw is a more appropriate word). Sometimes he can come across as a goof and likes to joke around frequently. He often uses this goofy behavior in situations where seriousness would be more appropriate. When it came to a disagreement his Papa always said he knew how to throw his weight around.

Despite his jovial attitude, Lokk is a Lawborn at heart. He has very insightful, calm, and honorable moments that make him a stout friend during hard times.

Biography
The Lawborn pack loved the mountains. It was their home, heritage, and history. The pack firmly believes in order, honor, and peace as strong as their mountain abode. They earned this responsibility and namesake by one of their forefathers and prophets who was named Disciple Lawborn. The legends tell of Disciple witnessing wolves caught amidst thunder and lightning on the highest peak in the pack territory. Concerned for the wolves' safety, he climbed the treacherous slopes of the mountain to bring his kin to safety.

As Disciple cleared the peak in the middle of the violent storm he discovered that the wolves were not those of his pack but were a troop of wolf spirits. Disciple cowered in fear as the wolf spirits encircled him in lightning and thunder. They then spoke to him with the voice of the shaking earth and declared that all wolf-kind had forgotten their place in the world and have been consumed by violence and animosity towards all life...even to their fellow kind.

The ancestors then continued to declare that Wolf-Law had been rejected and mocked. The law must be taught to every wolf once again or they would face their own destruction. Only the Wolf-Law and the humility of every pack would prevent the annihilation of all wolf-kind.

The legend then says that Disciple descended the great mountain, which then became known as Judgement Seat Peak, with the knowledge of the Wolf-Law on his mind and lips. The law is recited as such:

Every wolf must know the way,
Of the ones who’ve gone before them.
If they wish to see night turn to day,
Pay heed to Sky, Rock, and Stem.
Forsake the anger of your kin.
Stay the motion of bite and claw.
Share the wisdom you hold within,
To youth who wait in silent awe.
Fight and kill wolves only in defense,
Protect the lives of your fellow pack.
Follow this Law from this time hence,
Forsaken are you who turns your back.
Tend the hungry, sick, and cold.
Eat to sustain, no more, no less,
No matter if you are young or old,
This is the way a wolf is blessed.
Learn and grow as Time flows on.
Experience all the Night can yield.
Obtain your rest with the rise of Dawn.
Respect the Earth and Nature’s field.
Wolves consider this Law and words,
For doom and death is upon you.
Time for repentance comes in thirds,
Already has passed one and two.
So tarry not to humble your soul,
Hearken to those who know and see all.
Abide by this law and fill this role,
Or your descendants will watch wolves fall.

Disciple was true to his word and passed this great law on to all wolves who would hear him. He spent his life helping all wolves and defending the weak. Before his passing he passed all his knowledge down to his son, Tobias Lawborn. Tobias then passed his knowledge down to his son Landric. And Landric passed this on to his three cubs; Isola, Lokk, and Cadence.

The Lawborn packed strongly believed in Wolf-Law for many years but many seemed to tire of the old ways. Even Isola, the Alpha's daughter, rebelled against the teachings of her father. She spoke harsh words about the Law and their ancestors. Her disbelief and the lack of faith of other wolves caused the pack to split.

One day, in the birth of winter, Isola and some others came across a wolf in the pack territory. In their anger they struck the wolf down and heaved the carcass back to Judgment Seat Peak where the Lawborn Pack lived at the base. They exhibited their kill claiming that their pack was stronger without laws and guidelines. As this was taking place, Lokk noticed a dark storm roil above the peak. He informed his father and Landric demanded that his daughter bury the body in peace...but by then it was too late.

Lightning struck the slopes of Judgement Seat Peak and started an avalanche. All of nature's fury in ice and snow descended upon the blasphemous pack and they were wiped out. Only Lokk seemed to have survive when he took refuge in a nook between the roots of a great pine. He searched for his pack members far and wide but found no trace of them. He finally left the Judgement Seat Peak in the direction of the setting sun, hoping he may find peace of his own. He was determined to speak the words of the Wolf-Law, help all wolves, and defend the weak...just like his ancestors before him.

Player Notes
Just the guy that loves fishing and the simple things in life. I consider myself to have an "antique soul" and might have done better living in the 50's. I have a beautiful wife and daughter and my main goal is to make them happy. I love to camp, play the mandolin, write novels, work on other role-playing games, prepare myself for med-school, and…of course…fishing.
