All Welcome
The daylight hours in winter were short and, when even the sun did not come through the thick cover of the grey clouds, it gave Osprey a feeling that the day never really started. As a kid her favorite story had been about "the stolen sun" and, how a brave little wolf had gone on a quest to retrieve it and end the forever winter. She did not remember the details of it very well now, but the idea that you could actually do something to fend off the darkness still had the same appeal.

As she was making her way back to the den she and Dante shared that evening, her mind was wandering the realms of imagination, building a new story. The upcoming solstice and the knowledge that from that day on the days would get longer had been her inspiration and now she was trying to come up with a tale, why was it so and how it had happened. Lost in her dreams, she did not notice that she had wandered far off the track that would lead her home. And as it got darker, further and further she went to the less inhabited areas of the Donnelaith.
But in the silence I heard you calling out to me

Would you be alright with bumping this to the present? (:

Fear had driven Malachi to the outskirts of Donnelaith's claim. The scent of salt clung to him and followed him wherever he walked, as if the siren ran mocking circles around him. The memory of her set him on edge, but more disturbing were the thoughts that her invisible presence plagued upon his mind. Thoughts of violence, and full of anger, thirsty to enact vengeance on the woman who had torn his life apart. Their darkness made him tremble, for while he saw the destruction that would follow if he chose to give into their wiles, his will to resist grew weaker by the day.

The burden lay heavy on him that evening. Even hunting did nothing to quell him, and he moved his way to his makeshift den with empty jaws and a stomach to match. Another day of fighting demons left him exhausted, and Malachi would not have noticed the shadow through the trees if not for the cut of her path barring the way to his den. A buzz of shock set his hairs on end when he caught her movement ahead. "Who's there?" His voice sounded stronger than he felt, and he strained his eyes to see through the cover of twilight.

ooc: no problem!

It was the sharp call addressed to Osprey, that yanked her out of daydreaming and made her finally stop and have a proper look around. It dawned upon her that she was in a bit of trouble now, because this area, while still within the borders of the territory, was unknown to her. And to make matters worse, she was not alone here.

It took her a while to locate the figure in a not too far distance, because her eyesight in the dark was even worse. She squinted her eyes and locked her gaze on the stranger and then - after a bit of delibartion - she decided to approach him in a friendly manner. "Hey," she greeted him. "It's Osprey. And you are?"

But there was no answer and she stopped in her tracks, feeling both a little confused and afraid. She blinked few times, trying to decide, whether the shadow she thought being a wolf really was one or just a trick of her mind. It made no move, so she decided that it was best to retreat and run to the safer corners of the lands.
