New Snow ached with the loss of one she perceived as daughter. And she ached too for the missing Shadow, though then heard news of his return (@Mulherin). That made her feel relief—she had missed him. Now she sought Critter (@Carrion), her girl that was always accompanied by one. She observed that her scent was strongest of all in one area, and went to it. She came with a decomposing deer leg, dragging it by the hoof, and paused to look at the scene she had arrived to.
Grooves in the earth from the same space Critter had been wandering. A worried whine eked forth from her throat as she dropped the foodgift, eyes searching for her.
