All Welcome
-mom,- tzar's sigh is a heavy burden of a thing, paws clumsily signing in ptero solely for her benefit though he knows she can read his lips well enough. and his facial expression, which was a thinly veiled, if barely present, attempts at concealing exasperation.

complete with an eye roll and everything.

-you disobeyed me.- comes @Towhee Jr's sharp retort, teeth snapping at him. a harmless gesture — a gesture of her frustration.

-it's not that big of a deal!- tzar's pitch rises, ptero moving faster. jerky movements as he feels his familiar guard settling like a shield wall 'round him. a tight formation that even his mother's wrath could not burn down.

-did you find what you were looking for?- her movements are conduits for her own anger: stubborn son and mother staring one another down.

-only ghosts that haunted my every step.- the words taste metallic and his scowl deepens.

Bushtit stood at the caldera’s foot, oblivious to the argument between mother and son taking place deep within the territory. He could see no movement on the mountainside from here; everything was very quiet and still. He knew he should call out to announce his presence so somebody could fetch him and take him to his mother—or bring Towhee to him—but he’d just spent the past two days moving almost nonstop over very rugged terrain, so he took a few moments to catch his breath.

His dark eyes wandered as he stood there, tired muscles ticking in the frosty air. His gaze swept from the woods off to his right, past the nearby slope and then eastward across the frozen plain there. He stared at the distant mesa, oblivious to its connection to his padre and Verapaz, before finally retraining his attention fully upon Redhawk Caldera.

He sucked in a breath, threw back his head and announced his arrival by way of a sonorous howl.

-Signing.- | "Speaking." | -"Signing & speaking."- | "Mouthing (inaudible)." | Thoughts.

Alivia sprang into action, racing toward Bushtit's call at the border. Given all that had occurred in the Caldera in the last moon, she was hoping to intercept him and give him a heads-up before he encountered Towhee. Alivia was at a loss for how to help the grieving Elder, but at least she could give Towhee one less person to whom she would have to break the news.

In her hurry, she almost plowed straight through the mother-son duo. She managed to halt just short of colliding with either, but her sudden appearance would likely have startled them.

"Oh stars, I'm so sorry!" The words tumbled out quickly, followed by a rushed Sorry Sorry Sorry in Ptero. Although she had not interacted directly with either one, since they had been here Alivia had seen the pair signing back and forth to one another, so Alivia assumed at least one of them must be deaf.

"I was just gonna go meet Bushtit." She made the signs for border, howl, and the name-sign for Bushtit. "Do you guys want to come?" She signed the word for join and looked between the two questioningly. They were clearly from the Redhawk line, judging by the mother's uncanny resemblance to Towhee. So it stood to reason that they would be eager to greet their family member calling at the border.
