All Welcome
tiny work post for @Jasmine whenever you get her back on board

The fire man had left moonpack. Something drew his wandering feet and he'd wanted to find Winter Song. Was he cursed? After all — it was the second mate he'd had that had simply disappeared.

Where were they? Was Winter alive?

A-and what of Wind Flower, his first love? His heart still yearned for her, but her scent had long since grew cold.

He had to find them, simply had to!

So, with a sad in his heart and a voice that could barely make out syllables, he tried.

Fallen Sun threw back his head and took a deep breath, billowing out a call. Where'd you go?

She heard him; she saw. Soft evergreen rimmed with golden light.

His voice carried from far away - far enough she could leave now without him knowing. Near enough to strip comfort away. Near enough he could find her.

She was not afraid of him; she simply hated herself.

Where'd you go?

She given him her all and then tore herself away, once she had been satisfied -

Once she'd realized the consequence -

Just like your mother.

Or the picture she had of her. Eyes that couldn't love her. Heart that couldn't hold anyone anymore.

She had to leave. He wouldn't understand. Had to leave, before the came, and she ended up the same. Petals wilted, six feet deep, earth weighing down the wind that carried her.

Where had she gone?

Had he held on?

It was meant for someone else. She had been fleeting, a faerie fleeing, placing changeling where they could not ruin her. She'd brought her body back. Bought her life.

It was better. For the better.

She did not sing back.

But she did not leave, either.
